We are pleased to confirm that the updated plans for Zone 1B at Hayle North Quay have been approved by Cornwall Council.
The approved plans bring a number of improvements to the layout, design and how people will use the space. Shops, cafés and the main public space are now grouped together to create a clearer centre for the development. This will help bring activity into one place and make it easier to navigate.
At the same time, some areas have been redesigned to feel quieter and more residential, helping to balance busy public spaces with more peaceful places to live. Changes have also been made to the design of some buildings to allow for more homes, including the addition of private outdoor spaces for residents.
The layout has also been simplified. Walking routes are more direct and focused around key areas such as the Quayside and North Quay Road. New bus stops and short‑stay spaces for drop‑off and loading have been added, and changes to parking and access will help improve how traffic moves around the site.
Overall, these updates help create a clearer, more usable layout, with a strong centre, better connections, and a mix of spaces that support both local life and visitors.
